The local dolphin you will see on your trip, generally live in the Sound waters surrounding the Outer Banks. These dolphin like the shallow waters and most live here year round. Sometimes dolphin from the ocean come into these waters to breed and give birth, but many of the dolphin you will see have chosen to stay, just like the locals….

Captain Johnnys Dolphin Tours are offered Monday through Friday from May through October and Saturdays by appointment. Tickets can be reserved with a phone call, and generally speaking need only be made three days out. All ages are welcome and there is a restroom (not the Ritz Carlton, but big enough for a parent and a little one) and snacks are available onboard.
The Captain Johnny is a large, covered pontoon boat that has the capacity for almost 70 people, however they usually only allow 49. She is available for private charters, memorial cruises as well as sunset cruises. They will even do a dinner cruise if that suits you. (Bring your own food….) They frequently do school trips and business get-togethers as well. Call for more information.
