Our Outer Banks shopping directory has nearly 400 retail stores and almost 60 shopping centers. This massive collection of retail variety makes it easy to find the items you need or want. The Outer Banks is a great place to go shopping. Our local retailers have many unique items that you are sure to want. Of course there is a wonderful selection of Outer Banks souvenirs in many locations. These range from the traditional T-shirts and hats to shot glasses and stickers. Additionally, there are a number of craft stores that feature hand-made items and original art pieces that serve the same purpose. Review our category of retail listings to find the shop you want to browse.
When you are in the need of a little retail therapy and just want to go shopping, use our directory of shopping centers. Just an FYI, if you are looking for grocery stores, seafood markets and butcher shops we have them detailed in our Food Section. (We agonized how to organize this for your easiest convenience.)
Our guide to Outer Banks shopping centers lists each center, north to south. We have every shopping center from Corolla down to Nags Head and over to Roanoke Island. We define a “shopping center” as having at least three stores that would interest the “normal” visitor. (There are a few “shopping centers” with stores that are more “industrial”, such, as Sherman Williams paint shop, that would not qualify as one of the three needed.) We cross-link each store in each shopping center to their individual listing. This enables you to see helpful information on each individual listings.
In order to assist you, we have created categories of shopping for each of our three geographic regions; Northern Outer Banks (Corolla, Duck & Southern Shores), Central Outer Banks (Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills & Nags Head) and Roanoke Island (Manteo & Wanchese). Please visit our community shopping pages for a more detailed breakdown of our retail stores.
